Weeks after Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik termed the Narcotics Control Bureau's credibility into question by rooting out corruption and abnormalities in its operations, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut launched a campaign against central investigate agencies, such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED), to reveal misconducts, torture, and harassment of Maha Vikas Aghadi leaders and their relatives and close associates. Raut further blasted out at BJP for the alleged abuse of central probe agencies to oust the Shiv Sena-led MVA government and denigrate Maharashtra.

Raut stated that he was approached by several BJP leaders who requested him to help overthrow Maharashtra's state government to force the state into mid-term elections. "They had warned me that if I didn't comply, I would have to pay a price." After he declined to help overthrow the Maharashtra government, the ED has harassed and targeted him, his family members, and close acquaintances," he said.

"Central agencies are being used to destabilize the Uddhav Thackeray-led government, but you can't expect us to yield." This is something we learned from the late Balasaheb Thackeray," he remarked. According to Raut, the ED is attempting to discredit MVA leaders' family members. "There is a plot afoot in Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Jharkhand to overthrow governments," he stated.

The BJP, according to Raut, is "pressuring us to bow down." He went on to say that the federal agencies were also pursuing family members of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) head Sharad Pawar. "These agencies are being used to put pressure on our politicians. According to several BJP officials, the MVA government would fall on March 10. The government's term will come to an end. All of this started after I wrote to Venkaiah Naidu, a Rajya Sabha member. I also contacted Union Home Minister Ami Shah to complain about the harassment of his family and allies, warning him that they should not be singled out because agencies could probe him.
