Shiv Sena hits out at Central Agencies in its party mouthpiece Saamana
The Shiv Sena attacked the BJP in an editorial in its party mouthpiece Saamana, alleging misuse of central agencies. The latest salvo comes amid speculation of a possible patch-up between the two former allies especially after Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi one on one.

The speculation in Maharashtra is that one of the alliance partners may blink and join hands with the BJP as pressure mounts from central agencies. On record, both parties have shrugged off any such possibility. “Maharashtra is battling the Covid-19 pandemic, and now it also has to battle autocratic action by ED and CBI,” a sting editorial in Saamana said.

The editorial said Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray must have adopted the strategy of fighting back. The editorial described the ongoing investigation as the “Battle of Kurukshetra” from the Mahabharat and MVA is like Lord Krishna’s Chariot, right at the centre fighting enemies from all sides to defeat ‘Adharma’.

The editorial added that when Sharad Pawar left the Chief Ministers' residents after a one-hour meeting on Tuesday one could see “joy and satisfaction” on his face. The Chief Minister has also become more confident now, the editorial added. As the Shiv Sena praises Mamta Banerjee for fighting back against autocratic action the NCP also pointed to Bengal where those who left under pressure from agencies are returning to their old parties.

As Sharad Pawar was meeting Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday the NCP held a top-level meeting of its own to discuss the fallout of the ED action against its leaders? The strength of this alliance is going to be tested in the days to come amidst pressure from central agencies. Mar checkers? Please note that they are not perfect.
