Shiv Sena is a Hindu nationalist party in India. Sanjay Raut, a Rajya Sabha MP, wrote a letter to Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday, expressing his displeasure with the "misuse/abuse of power by law enforcement agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and other agencies against Members of Parliament, their relatives, friends, acquaintances, and others."

Since the two parties split in Maharashtra, Raut has accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of "systematically targeting" Shiv Sena politicians and their associates with the help of law enforcement authorities. "I've been connected with Shiv Sena, a political party that shares power in Maharashtra with Congress and NCP since I began my political career almost three decades ago." My political party, the Shiv Sena, has been in a coalition with the BJP for almost twenty-five years, and the two parties have even established a government in Maharashtra.

We did, however, part ways not long ago due to some ideological differences. Since the Shiv Sena split from the BJP in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena MPs and leaders have been systematically targeted by employing law enforcement agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate against us and in the process.

In his letter to the Vice President, Raut noted that the investigating agencies are being utilized by the ruling party not only to harass and threaten leaders of other political parties but also to overthrow democratically elected governments. "This is unquestionably not a healthy sign for any democratic country," he said.
