Chandrakant Patil, the Maharashtra BJP head, stated on Monday that
Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut is working on an agenda to succeed Uddhav Thackeray as Chief Minister. Patil, speaking to the media in this city, said, "According to our research, Sanjay Raut is working on the agenda set forth by Sharad Pawar, as Uddhav has served as CM for 2.5 years. They want to get rid of him, and since they won't be able to appoint Supriya Sule CM directly, Sanjay Raut will be made CM, which would make Sule CM in the end." Sharad Pawar's daughter, Lok Sabha MP and
Nationalist Congress Party politician Supriya Sule is a member of the Nationalist Congress Party.
Notably, after Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray missed the State Assembly's first day of the winter session owing to illness, Patil suggested Uddhav Thackeray should delegate his authority to someone else until he recovers. Patil had also said that Uddhav Thackeray, the state's governing Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), does not trust anyone in his administration, adding that the Chief Minister should give charge to his son and state minister Aaditya Thackeray and that if he does not, he does not trust him.
With this on Thursday, Chandrakant Patil aimed at the Shiv Sena and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government for failing to respond to the attack on BJP leader Kirit Somaiya.
"The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government is not leaving any stone unturned to sow panic in West Bengal and Kerala that they (the ruling government) are killing
BJP workers for opposing their wrongdoings, but we are not scared," Patil stated. Kirit Somaiya, despite being a Z Plus Security protected with Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) security officers, was beaten by Shivsena workers, prompting the BJP president to write a letter to the Union Home Minister requesting his assistance in the case. Patil blasted the MVA government for dividing the state into West Bengal and Kerala, claiming that the ruling party attacked and killed BJP supporters. He also chastised the administration for utilizing the police force against BJP activists.
