The Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's brother-in-law Shridhar Madhav Patankar's immovable properties were provisionally attached by the Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday, sending a strong message to the CM: 'Yeh to sirf trailer hai, picture abhi baaki hai'.
The party, which has been setting new deadlines for the fall of Maharashtra's Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government, has also stated that it will investigate corruption accusations involving not only MVA ministers and leaders, but also Thackeray and his family.
The
BJP has already started Mission 2022 to defeat the
Shiv Sena, citing corruption worth more than Rs 3 lakh crore in the saffron party-controlled civic body over the last 25 years. Tuesday's action came ahead of impending elections to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
Furthermore, the ED action comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed the Opposition parties and its 'ecosystem' for a 'conspiracy' to impede action against the corrupt, claiming that the parties were shielding the guilty by "defaming independent investigating agencies."

Two MVA Ministers, former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and Minister without Portfolio Nawab Malik, are already in jail for money laundering, while Transport Minister Anil Parab, Shiv Sena leaders Pratap Sarnaik and Ravindra Waikar are being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate.
On Tuesday, Thackeray, his son Aaditya, and his wife Rashmi had no reaction to the ED's decision.
NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, on the other hand, stated that central agencies were being abused for political purposes. "Until a few years ago, most people were unaware of the ED, but it is now so widely overused that even people in villages are aware of it," he said.
