Nana Patole, the President of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee, said on Sunday that Mahatma Gandhi's ideology is the guiding light for the country, which will be guided by the Father of the Nation's teachings rather than Hindutva. After paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary today, Patole addressed the party workers, saying that Gandhian ideas are deeply embedded in the country and that no one can wipe them out.
"The Gandhian philosophy is widely acknowledged around the world. The country will be administered on Gandhiji's teachings, not Hindutva," declared the
Congress politician, whose party governs Maharashtra alongside the
Shiv Sena and the
NCP. Former Congress head Rahul Gandhi remarked earlier in the day that "Hindutvawadis" believe the Father of the Nation is no longer alive, but he is alive where there is truth.
"Let us commit to instil Gandhi's ideas in the minds of today's generation." Gandhiji gave this country its independence through nonviolence. Gandhiji's nonviolence teachings have been widely recognized over the world. Because the country is at risk of losing its freedom after a lengthy war against the British, it is our job to protect the independence and the constitution," Patole stated.
'Attempts are being made to portray Mahatma Gandhi as a villain by fabricating his history. "Be on the lookout for this propaganda," he cautioned. Nathuram Godse, according to Patole, was the first terrorist to assassinate Mahatma Gandhi. The
BJP has harshly attacked his statement.
In the meantime, Patole has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to express his opposition to the release of Why I Killed Gandhi. "It was up to Kolhe to select what character he wanted to play as an actor, but when the script for the Godse picture came to him, he should have recognized what role he was playing," he continued.
