Bhagat Singh Koshyari, the governor of Maharashtra, sparked a new storm on Saturday by drawing comparisons between Chhatrapati Shivaji and Dr. BR Ambedkar. If someone asks young people, "Who is your icon? ", Koshyari stated. Which politician is your favourite? So, you don't have to leave. They will be waiting for you in Maharashtra. Shivaji Maharaj is a relic of the bygone days. I'm referring to contemporary times, from Nitin Gadkari to Dr. BR Ambedkar.

If someone asks you about your idol, you won't need to look far—you may find them right here in Maharashtra. As a result, Babasaheb Ambedkar and Nitin Gadkari have replaced Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as the new idols, according to the Governor. He was addressing the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University convocation, where Sharad Pawar, a former union minister, and Nitin Gadkari, a current union minister, both received D. Litt. degrees.

Koshyari's remark sparked vehement responses from leaders of numerous political groups. Santosh Shinde, the head of the Sambhaji Brigade, charged the governor with being hostile to both Maharashtra and Chhatrapati Shivaji. "Even after three and a half centuries, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj continues to strike fear into the hearts and minds of everyone in Maharashtra and throughout the nation.

The ideal of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is now in front of Maharashtra's eyes. He instructed the Governor, "To stop this business of getting up early and sticking your tongue out. Once you visit forts, you will know." Shrikant Kokate, a historian, asserted that the governor frequently speaks out of context, which is offensive and problematic. "Sharad Pawar and Nitin Gadkari are successful, whereas Koshyari has lost the prestige of the governorship. Although they serve as examples, the governor has ruled over Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Maharaj is a great man who influences not only past but also present and future history. For everyone,  Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is an inspiration "he observed

The 13th direct descendant of the Maratha ruler and former Rajya Sabha member Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje claimed that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is a legend that inspires people in all eras, including the past, present, and future. "I don't understand the Governor's point of view. I had already stated that I would send him outside of Maharashtra. I beg the Prime Minister with my hands folded: Please, Maharashtra doesn't need someone like that. How is it possible for the Governor to think such derogatory things about saints and great people like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj? "He queried.

Anil Desai, a Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray MP, also objected to the Governor's remarks. He mocked, "Governor might have known Sharad Pawar and Nitin Gadkari today." Clyde Crasto, a spokesman for the NCP, criticised the Governor for his remarks as well. He tweeted, "#BJP is always silent on his demeaning statements that hurt Maharashtrians,

Why? Hon'ble @rashtrapatibhvn must seriously consider changing this person holding a constitutional position who is constantly making statements that create controversy. The Governor has stirred up controversy previously. When he claimed that Rajasthanis and Gujaratis should be expelled from the state, Koshyari stirred up controversy in July.
