In a united plea, the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) partners Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress have asked their respective cadres to work in close cooperation to elect the largest number of presidents of Nagar Panchayats across Maharashtra in a serious endeavour to keep BJP at bay. In a joint appeal, Shiv Sena Minister Subhash Desai, NCP Minister Jayant Patil, and state Congress Chief Nana Patole claimed that the MVA had outpaced the BJP in the recently held elections to the 106 Nagar Panchayats, Bhandara and Gondia Zilla Parishads, and 15 Nagar Panchayats under their jurisdiction, and that the MVA will have to maintain its victory march in the elections of presidents.

The NCP, Shiv Sena, and Congress jointly gained 1021 seats, despite the BJP taking the top spot with 419 votes. The NCP won 381 seats, Congress 344 seats, and the Shiv Sena 296 seats among the three ruling parties. Desai, Patil, and Patole have urged their party leaders and cadres to work together to elect as many Nagar Panchayat Presidents as possible against the BJP. According to the trio, this is important in order for the MVA to achieve its Common Minimum Programme and, as a result, consolidate its position by gaining the people's trust.

According to them, the MVA government has been in power for two years and was founded for the greater benefit of Maharashtra and the advancement of the common man. As part of the Common Minimum Programme, three partners are collaborating to accelerate development and empower various groups.
