The Income Tax is conducting raids on Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray's close confidant Rahul Kanal, Transport Minister Anil Parab's close aide Bajarang Kharmate, and another friend Sadanand Kadam ahead of a press conference by Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut scheduled for 4 P.M. at Shiv Sena Bhavan.

Kanal is also a trustee of Shirdi Devasthan, Kharmate is a former Wardha regional transport officer, and Kadam is Parab's financial partner, according to reports. 'In the past, invasions occurred in Maharashtra. This is a Delhi invasion. The Centre, fearful of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, has deployed the central probe agencies as the polls approach. Similar raids were carried out in the areas where the elections were held.

The BJP's polling agencies have morphed into central investigation agencies. As a result, Maharashtra is carrying out similar raids. Maharashtra will not be afraid and will not bend down (before Delhi) despite such raids and activities by central authorities," Aaditya said in response. The raids were carried out just days after the Income Tax Department raided the home of Shiv Sena lawmaker and former BMC Standing Committee chairman Yashwant Jadhav for more than 70 hours.

The Shiv Sena, together with its ruling allies the NCP and the Congress, has often claimed that the BJP-led government in Delhi has been abusing the central investigation agencies against MVA leaders. The ruling coalition partners have claimed that the activities are motivated by revenge politics. Raut, on the other side, has stated that the Enforcement Directorate, which recently detained NCP Minister Nawab Malik in a money laundering case, is reportedly leading a BJP "criminal gang."
