BMC elections: BJP-MNS to tie hands for upcoming BMC elections?
Soon after speculations were being made of a possible change in political equations in the metropolis as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2022 approach, amid this the former chief minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Devendra Fadnavis recently had a meeting with the MNS Chief Raj Thackeray at Shiv Thirth, the new residence of the leader.

Not only was the former Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Devendra Fadnavis, was noticed at Shiv Thirth, but he was accompanied by his wife Amruta and spent nearly 2 hours at his house.  “It was an invitation from the Thackeray’s to the Fadnavis couple for lunch in their new home,” stated MNS Spokesperson Sandeep.

He further was mum about the recent speculations of a possible tie of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections 2022. The 2017 Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2022, can be recalled vividly, when the Shiv Sena was the single largest party with 84 seats in the 227 members Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) with 82 by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), 31 by Congress, and NCP with 9 and MNS with 7 and other 14. At the beginning of its tenure, the Shiv Sena took up its strength to 94 taking seven corporators from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) ruled by Raj Thackeray.

Looking at the speed of the emergence of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) parties it is clear that three of them, Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) wish to make a strong base in the city of Mumbai however they are not sure if they want to fight the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2022 alone or in an alliance.
