In the wake of the BJP's demand for NCP Minister Nawab Malik's resignation, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut visited with Malik's family at his Kurla residence on Friday and promised them not only the Sena's but the whole Maha Vikas Aghadi government's support. Raut's visit coincided with the ruling NCP, Shiv Sena, and Congress declaring that Malik would not resign from the state cabinet in response to BJP pressure.

"Raut came and visited the family and promised us that the MVA government is entirely behind us." "The government is with you," said Raut, who came on behalf of the Shiv Sena. Don't be concerned. 'Let's face it together," Kaptan remarked. At this time, Kaptain Malik was joined by his daughter Sana Khan and sister Corporator Saida Khan. Raut was accompanied by his brother, Sunil Raut, who is also an MLA.

Devendra Fadnavis, the Politician of the Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and a BJP leader, staged a protest in front of the Vidhan Sabha on Thursday, demanding Malik's resignation during the state's ongoing Annual Budget Session. Fadnavis further accused the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) administration of attempting to protect Maharashtra's minority welfare  minister. Fadnavis stated to reporters in this city, "Why is it that the administration refuses to accept his resignation? This is a government of 'Dawood samarpits' and 'Dawood sharans.'

This government is banding together to save those who maintain ties with Dawood. That is why we have begun protests and are demanding that he quit immediately." State Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar stated on Wednesday that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray believes there is no need "to accept Nawab Malik's resignation" at this time. In connection with Dawood Ibrahim's money laundering case, a special PMLA court on Thursday extended the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) custody of Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik till March 7. Amit Desai, a defence counsel, slammed the ED in court, claiming that the agency today stated that the Minister's "terror funding" to Haseena Parkar was Rs 5 lakh, as opposed to Rs 55 lakh in the original application, which was due to a "type error."
