Ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections 2022, the civic body has decided to prepare, restructure and update the voter's registration at the administration level. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has collected all the information regarding the work to be done before the elections and is on pause and will resume the work after the state election commission has agreed to this decision. 
 
Although there is no surety of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections being conducted in the year 2022, though the preparations are taking place full on. The ruling party in the city has started to frame and reconstruct old projects, pending projects and all the building of whatever necessary whereas the opposition is in full power alleging, slamming and attacking the ruling government of corruption, money laundering and what not. 
 
The ongoing term of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will end next year in March, usually, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections are conducted in February but due to the prevailing situation of Covid 19 and lockdown being imposed in the state due to which the election got postponed. 
 
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) recently has completed collecting all the data of restricting 227 electoral wards in the city of Mumbai. The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) consisting of Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) have asked for rectification of wards responding to which a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator stated that after the census of 2011 there is no new data, so there may hardly be any changes in the electoral wards.
