According to Sharad Pawar, the BJP is behind the Eknath Shinde-led insurrection in Maharashtra

Sharad Pawar, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chief and an architect of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, claimed on Thursday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was behind Shiv Sena minister Eknath Shinde's rebellion, saying that the majority test would take place on the floor of the state assembly. Pawar's remarks came just minutes after his nephew and deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, as well as state NCP chairman Jayant Patil, remarked, "So far, no prominent BJP politician has been spotted in the frontline."

 

"Ajit Pawar may have suggested looking at the circumstances in the state," added the NCP chief, referring to his nephew. As MLAs leave the state, Eknath Shinde's hand is visible. While Ajit may be aware of what is going on in the state, I am more aware of what is going on in Gujarat and Assam," Pawar stated. "Ajit Pawar may have said this since he is unfamiliar with BJP leaders from beyond Maharashtra. I'm familiar with them. "Even Eknath Shinde has stated that a national party has guaranteed him of full support," Pawar remarked.

 

Shinde was talking only to the BJP because other national parties such as the BSP, CPM, CPI, Congress, and NCP had no role in destabilizing the MVA, he claimed. According to Pawar, the dissident MLAs would have to return to Mumbai and face the Assembly, and BJP officials "from Gujarat and Assam will not be coming here to guide them." Shinde, on the other side, stated that a "national party" has called their insurrection "historic" and has promised to assist them in any way possible. Shinde's office posted a video of him speaking to a group of rebel Sena legislators in a Guwahati hotel.

 

The video also showed the legislators unanimously approving Shinde as their group leader to make further decisions on their behalf. Shinde is heard saying in the video, "Our troubles and happiness are the same." We shall win because we are unified. There is a national party, a'mahashakti'...you know, the ones that defeated Pakistan. That party has stated, "We have made a historic decision and have promised to provide every assistance." According to a statement released by Shinde's office, the decision to authorize him to make decisions on their behalf was made unanimously.
