Raj Thackeray's address, according to former Mayor Kishori Pednekar, was nothing more than a screenplay written by the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). She further said that Uddhav Thackeray's speech was full of hatred. On the festival of Gudi Padwa, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) head Raj Thackeray addressed a large rally at Shivaji Park. Raj made severe remarks in his address on his brother, Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray, and the Maha Vikas Agahdi (MVA) government. Raj's remarks elicited reactions from Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress officials.

"MNS employees had hoped for something different and thrilling, but they were let down." Balasaheb had many leaders, but we don't understand how he (Raj) ended up as a waste, Pednekar added, emphasizing that only Uddhav was Balasaheb's true successor.
Sanjay Raut, a Rajya Sabha MP and Shiv Sena spokesperson, also responded to Raj's speech. Raj recalled an incident in 2019 when MVA was forming its government.

"I wonder why some people develop their wisdom teeth so late," Raut added. Governments are constituted based on the number of members in the House of Representatives. He further stated that no other party should interfere with what occurred in the 2019 election between the Sena and the BJP. Raj was also chastised by Raut for his remark toward NCP president Sharad Pawar.
