Shiv Sena: UPA is now inoperative, high time for a wider opposition coalition against BJP
The Shiv Sena leading the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in the state of Maharashtra in a recent statement stated that it is high time to create a wider national coalition of opposition parties to fight against the BJP in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, particularly now as the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance is now not very strong and inoperative and will not be able to bring in many important opposition parties who are fighting against the BJP.

Sanjay Raut stated that the wider opposite coalition will only be able to create when there will be collective efforts and contributions of senior opposition leaders Thackeray, Gandhi’s, Sharad Pawar, Mamata Banerjee, and others. “The situation is a matter of serious national concern because the way the BJP led government is running the country is not at all in a good manner. It is high time that we create a new and wider nation alliance of opposition parties against the BJP for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls,” said Sanjay Raut.

When asked why it has become important for the party to create a wider coalition now the Shiv Sena leader said, “As the UPA is not strong anymore and inoperative as it seems to have run its course. And on the other hand, many parties are fighting against the BJP like Trinamool, Shiv Sena, SP, BSP, TRS, YSRCP, BJD, Akali Dal. Therefore, it has become necessary for us to create a wider opposition front that can keep all the parties along with Congress and other UPA allies on a broad platform. We have to maximize participation and contributions of opposition parties”.
