After the recent arrest of Union Minister Narayan Rane for contentious statements against Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, a rift between the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took place. Coming on strong, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started preparing for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections approaching the next year 2022.
As a strategy for the
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections, the
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had on Thursday organised morchas in 23 wards all over the city of Mumbai seeking the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) report card. A morcha was led by BJP MLA Ameet Satam in the K-West ward alleging corruption and misrule in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The main focus of the MLA was the corruption in the buildings and factories department of the ward.
“As we highlighted the recent domineering action by the civic officials of the building department of the ward office in the Asha colony and slum area of Janta colony. Was later arrested by DN Nagar police,” he stated. Responding to this the Police stated, that Ameet Satam was only hold up and afterward was permitted to leave.
Ashish Shelar, the BJP Legislator and former minister who organised the campaign in H Westward, stated, “Our party has asked for a waiver on property tax for homes up to 500 sq ft areas, which was promised by the Shiv Sena. A 50 percent cut in water tax should be provided by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), fire control cess and internal road tax and give financial help to those who have been hit by heavy rains and Tauktae cyclone.”
He stated that it looks like the
Shiv Sena party controlled Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) believes that there are only two parts in the city that is Kala Nagar and Worli, because the projects are only implemented there, forgetting the Mumbaikars living in the rest of the city.
