The Shiv Sena and BJP corporators in the Standing Committee objected to the Municipal Chief Auditor's (MCA) late issuance of yearly audit reports to Standing Committee members and demanded that they analyze the most recent audit reports. Rajul Patel, a Shiv Sena Corporator and Head of the Health Committee, raised a point of order during the Standing Committee meeting on Wednesday.

She expressed herself "We've received audit reports from 2013-14, but many of the corporators from that time aren't here. We require the most recent reports." She further claimed that the MCA department is releasing late reports on purpose to favour the opposition.

Vinod Mishra, a BJP Councillor, welcomed the motion and said: "It's as if the audit report is a mirror. The audit report details how much we spent on each sector, which is beneficial to BMC in terms of budgeting." "The Chairman should call a special audit on the Covid-19 expenditures made since March 2020," he stated.

Ravi Raja, the Congress group leader, said before the Standing Committee, "The BMC is divided into several divisions. These departments fail to produce vouchers and other items required for an audit in a timely manner. They sometimes keep vouchers for up to three years. How will MCA be able to complete an audit on time?"
