Devendra Fadnavis, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, announced on Friday that the investigation into alleged wrongdoing at the Sree Siddhivinayak Temple Trust would be finished in a month. The winter session of the Nagpur Maharashtra Assembly has come to an end, and the next session will start on February 27 in Mumbai. Varun Sardesai, the cousin of Yuva Sena leader and former Minister Aaditya Thackeray, is suspected of having deceived young people with promises of jobs. The Maharashtra government launched an investigation into this incident on Friday.

The action was taken a few days after the state government declared that a special investigation team (SIT) will be formed to look into the death of Disha Salian, the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's former manager. Yogesh Sagar, a Bharatiya Janata Party MLA, said that when a rising star in a political party and someone close to the party leadership gets accused, it is a big issue for the state. The government would look into the matter, according to deputy chief minister and minister of the interior Devendra Fadnavis. The news was made one week after Fadnavis requested an SIT investigation into Salian's passing. Last Monday, the MLAs from the ruling alliance demanded the creation of the SIT.

Aaditya Thackeray, a Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA and former minister, was reportedly the target. Sardesai is Aaditya's cousin and the head of the Yuva Sena, the Shiv Sena's Uddhav Thackeray faction's youth wing. Sardesai was the head of Hindustan Scouts and Guides, while Rupesh Kadam and Pankaj Chauragade served as its secretary and treasurer, respectively, according to Sagar, who brought up the subject of job fraud in the House. "Young people were robbed of at least Rs 10 lakh and transferred to Gondia for training. There was a school erected in Gondia where they received their education. After training, they received appointment papers stating that the institution will hire them as instructors, "said the BJP MLA.
