Now, it is a done deal. In the
upcoming BMC elections, the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, led by Prakash Ambedkar and Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray of the Shiv Sena, will form an alliance. Rekha Thakur, the state VBA president, affirmed this. In an effort to compete with the
BJP and the Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena, it will be yet another attempt to create a partnership between Shiv Shakti and Bhim Shakti.
Subhash Desai, the head of the Shiv Sena UBT, and I have met twice, and we are prepared to create an alliance, said Ms. Thakur. She went on to say that Subhash Desai, the head of the Shiv Sena UBT, and other leaders met with Mahender Rokade, a member of the VBA state committee, Abul Hassan, the president of the Mumbai area, and Nilesh Vishwakarma, the regional president. These conferences were productive. Following that, the Shiv Sena UBT approved the alliance.
Ms. Thakur claimed that Mr. Desai had spoken with Mr. Ambedkar and reaffirmed that the two had met twice to discuss the specifics of the planned alliance.
But according to Ms. Thakur, the party has urged the Shiv Sena UBT to specify whether it will compete in the upcoming BMC elections in an alliance with only the VBA or with the Maha Vikas Aghadi partners NCP and
Shiv Sena as well. The next round of negotiations would start as soon as the Shiv Sena UBT expresses its position in this regard, she continued.
We have finally gathered on one platform today, Mr. Thackeray added. Our philosophical foundation is the same. We can therefore easily collaborate. It won't arrive the way the public anticipates. We have presented the heritage of both concepts. Without specifically mentioning the BJP, Mr. Ambedkar asserted that the nation was being moved from democracy to dictatorship. He hinted at a potential alliance between the two parties, saying, "It's time for everyone to decide whether they want democracy or dictatorship."
