The Aam Aadmi Party made its debut in Gujarat in the Surat Municipal Corporation elections and won 27 seats.  This is the party's first attempt in the Gujarat local body elections. Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson Preieti Sharma Menon said, “For the people of Gujarat and our allies - the party rank and file have worked very hard and proved that‘ pure politics ’is possible across India.
