Still a rift between Governor Koshyari and Maharashtra Government?
The fight between the Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari and the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government has yet not taken a step backward. A recent meeting which was going to be held between the leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition, led by the Chief Minister and Governor didn’t take place as the latter refused to give an appointment to the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) leaders, alleged the Congress Chief Nana Patole.

“The reason for cancellation of the meeting was because of the governor as he refused to give an appointment,” stated Congress Chief Nana Patole. The meeting was aimed by the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, along with Deputy Chief Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar and revenue minister from the Congress Balsaheb Thorat, to have a meeting with Bhagat Singh Koshyari to discuss the issue of not clearing the 12 names for the legislative council which have been approved by the state cabinet a long time ago. The clarification is pending with the governor for the past nine months.

“If 12 Members of Legislative Council (MLC) are sworn in, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will have to face a crack. That’s the reason why Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is delaying the appointment of vacant seats in the legislative council,” stated Nana Patole.  Though the officials from the Raj Bhavan made it clear that the reason for the meeting being not possible was that the meeting by the government was clarified after 4 pm, due to which the governor responded with a no as he had prior appointments. Now, the meeting is expected to take place in September as Koshyari will be visiting Delhi on Friday to attend the launch of his biography the next day and will come back to Mumbai only next month.
