Former Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Kishori Pednekar has written to BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal, arguing that it is illegal to rescind or amend any decisions made by the Standing Committee and Civic House prior to March 8, 2022.

The Shiv Sena-led corporation's tenure ended on March 7, 2022. Following that, the state government named the BMC commissioner as the civic body's administrator. Pednekar delivered the letter after it was revealed that numerous ministries had approached the administrator to seek revisions to the Standing Committee and Civic House decisions made between 2017 and 2022.

"So here I am requesting that you refrain from making any revisions or alterations to the decisions made by the Standing Committee and Civic House until the next elected members take over the organisation," she stated. "I am not disappointed with the administrator," Pednekar remarked. I've merely offered him advice." In response to the letter, BMC Commissioner Chahal stated, "No decision has been cancelled as of yet."

However, former BJP group leader Prabhakar Shinde stated, "Shiv Sena had flouted regulations and supported many suggestions in the Standing Committee." They frequently did not allow BJP members to speak during the meeting. If the commissioner cancels proposals and judgments that are not in the public interest, we appreciate the move."

The BMC management has cancelled the tender procedure for tunnel laundry construction in the Sewri TB Hospital grounds. Previously, the Byculla Zoo's procurement process for animal enclosures had been cancelled. Both of these tenders were never submitted for approval to any committee.
