Out of 227 seats, Shiv Sena has 94 corporators with BJP not offering support, it can eventually fall short in number. There is also a constant threat of President rule, which leaves Shiv Sena with many unanswered questions.

Shiv Sena is considering the options of forming a government with NCP and Congress. Arwind Sawant, the only Central Minister of Shiv Sena called it quits with the Narendra Modi-led NDA government, but the scenario in BMC is left unattended yet.

BJP has 82 corporators and Sena has 94. Sena can approach Congress which has 30 corporators and NCP with 6 to join them in an alliance if BJP decides not to support it.

BJP is waiting for Sena to do a "ghar-wapsi" to the alliance within 2-3 months. While Sena can be seen approaching Congress and NCP and if they decide to emerge as an alliance they can form a new government.
