Speculations of Shiv Sena going back to the NDA camp seems to fade as it comes closer to the Congress-led coalition
It has just been three months since the speculation that was being made of the Shiv Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) joining hands in the state of Maharashtra as a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray for a good half-an-hour. The meeting was conducted to seek the intervention of the Centre government on the matter of restoring Maratha Quota and various other issues.

After the meeting, some leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party from different states, stated that “Wait and watch!” pointing out that the Shiv Sena was a natural coalition of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). With a strategy in mind, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on August 20 took part in a meeting of Chief Ministers of opposition parties and opposition leaders which was called by Congress President Sonia Gandhi. A strategy of working together was put forward by the chief minister in the virtual meeting, to convince people that elections are not the only reason for the parties to be together but it meant business.

In the time of not more than four days, the Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray arrested the Union Minister of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Narayan Rane who has been appointed a member of the Prime Minister Modi’s cabinet, as he gave contentious statements against the Chief Minister after which the speculations are clear enough that Shiv Sena doesn’t look forward to going back to the NDA camp and the party is ready to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
