Special Covid 19 Vaccination drive starts from today in Maharashtra
As the Covid 19 cases in the state dropped, the Government of Maharashtra decided to resume colleges from the 20th of October. Soon after this decision the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition government consisting of Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) came with an initiative of starting a special vaccination drive against coronavirus infection only for college going students from the age of 18 to 25. 
 
The jab will not only include the college students under this age but also the faculty will be administered the dose, and the drive will be continued to operate till 2nd of November. This announcement of a special drive for youth was done by the Health Minister of Maharashtra Rajesh Tope, stating that this was need of the hour as these are the youth who will be travelling the most in coming times. Encouraging people for this drive, the health minister further stated that those universities and colleges who will be doing a great job in this inoculation drive will be rewarded. 
 
Colleges in the state of Maharashtra started to resume their operations physically from 20th October as the situation of Covid 19 started to improve as compared to last time. Though the state government has stated that only fully vaccinated students will be allowed to enter the campus and online classes still must go on for the students who will not be able to attend physical classes. 
 
A total of four million college students are there in the state of Maharashtra who is currently pursuing higher education, technical education, medical studies or are enrolled in non-affiliated and private colleges with this only the state government decided to gather information from the students of their status for Covid 19 vaccination and then start the drive for the youth of the colleges.
