Not wanting to take any chances with the annual Dussehra rally, traditionally addressed by the Shiv Sena chief, the party has made a formal request to the Mumbai Police for permission. This follows the Dahi Handi incident, in which the
BJP managed to unseat the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena at the iconic Jamboree Maidan.
Leaders of the Shiv Sena are working to prevent the renegade faction, which is being led by CM Eknath Shinde, from taking over the annual Dussehra gathering at Shivaji Park, which was established in 1966 by the late Bal Thackeray after the founding of the Shiv Sena. Since the party's founding, the annual Dussehra gathering has been a Shiv Sena tradition.
The Shiv Sena requested permission from the authorities to host its annual Dussehra rally in Mumbai, but the decision was turned down. He declared, "This (the Eknath Shinde dispensation) is a repressive government." "Maharashtrians, Americans, and people around the world have realised that the Shinde government is "khokhe ki sarkar" (alluding that rebel MLAs took money to switch sides, khokha being slang for crore). The
Shiv Sena is supported by the public, not these traitors, "Aditya Thackeray, leader of the Yuva Sena, was also mentioned.
Political parties have not submitted any requests to host a protest during Dussehra at Shivaji Park, according to senior Mumbai Police officers. "The subject of not allowing any application does not arise," said the senior police official, who asked to remain anonymous. "All the permissions are online and the system does not accept any applications more than 30 days before the event.
The Mumbai Police and
BMC must approve and sanction the proposal before the rally can be held in Shivaji Park.
The gathering, where the Shiv Sena's ideas and programmes were laid out for the party's supporters, received an overwhelmingly positive response, which reflected the success of the party and its leadership. Uddhav Thackeray spoke to the Sainiks after Bal Thackeray passed away.
