On Thursday, the Maha Vikas Aghadi Alliance
Shiv Sena praised the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for setting up a commission of investigation into the Pegasus snoop gate that has swayed India and other countries. Attacking the
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Centre for not paying any attention to the demand of the Opposition for a Joint Parliamentary Committee to probe the Spygate scam, the Shiv Sena stated that whatever Mamata Banerjee did was right.
In the newspaper led by the Shiv Sena party, it stated that it was not only shameless but a crime to keep an eye on Ministers, Opposition, Judiciary, Journalists, Lawyers, and other citizens to intrude on their private lives. The editorial further said that "This whole issue becomes a matter of concern as it is related to the country's national security as there are only some organisations like IB, RAW, CBI, ED, NCB, CBDC, etc, who are involved in such acts. Now, if an Israeli agency like Pegasus enters the scene, then it can erode the country's security, but it seems that the Centre is giving national shelter to this issue. The nation needs to know the truth. As expected the Centre took stringent action and set up an investigation commission but nothing has been done so far.”
The editorials focused on the moves taken by other countries like France who have announced an investigation into the Pegasus Scandal, but the Indian Government still has not considered the matter as serious- it is assumed that there is some kind of mystery, said Saamana. Stating the snoop gate scam has been faced by countries all over the world and how 50,000 people were being monitored, the Shiv Sena asked all countries to come up and appoint investigation commissions and help unravel the masterminds behind the snoop gate scam.
