Rifts resurfaced inside the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi administration after two Shiv Sena MPs, Shrikant Shinde and Sanjay Jadhav, accused ally NCP of one-upmanship. They also chastised the NCP for allocating insufficient funding to Shiv Sena, despite the fact that party veteran Ajit Pawar is in charge of finance and planning.

Shinde, a Shiv Sena MP from Kalyan and the son of Shiv Sena heavyweight and urban development minister Eknath Shinde, reminded the NCP of alliance dharma, stating that three parties, the Shiv Sena, the NCP, and the Congress, had joined hands and agreed on a shared minimum programme. "However, the NCP does not follow the alliance dharma," he claimed.

Shinde went on to say that wherever the NCP is dominant, there is an endeavour to outdo the Shiv Sena. He went on to say that it would be discussed with the Chief Minister. On the other side, the party MP from Parbhani Sanjay Jadhav, who has been loud in his opposition to the NCP, alleged that NCP legislators and MPs are given precedence in funding distribution but not Shiv Sena.

Shide and Jadhav's rant against the NCP occurred only days after a group of party leaders complained about carelessness in the allocation and, in some cases, diversion of funds to the NCP. The NCP and Shiv Sena ally Congress have been vocal in their opposition to the Maha Vikas Aghadi government's failure to provide appropriate cash to departments held by party ministers and MPs.
