Sanjay Raut, a
Shiv Sena MP, lashed out at the Centre on Friday, alleging a connection between the Central authorities and the
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to discredit the Maharashtra administration. This revelation by Raut came just days after Devendra Fadnavis, the former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition, said that the state government's special public prosecutor was plotting a plot against BJP leaders in Maharashtra. Fadnavis also handed the Assembly Speaker a pen drive with a video clip and urged an investigation by the CBI.
Raut told reporters today about the situation, saying, "What is the purpose of this Pendrive? Every day, a new Pendrive appears... Is it produced in a factory? There is a link between central government agencies and the BJP... The same thing is happening in West Bengal, and it will soon happen in Tamil Nadu."
"Both the National Investigation Agency and the opposition in Maharashtra are working together to discredit the Maharashtra administration. In 'fake' charges, the Federal Investigation Agency intends to overthrow Maharashtra's government. In random cases, the charge sheet is immediately prepared. We have no idea what the accusation against us is about "he stated.
"In Maharashtra, there has never been such terrible and low-level politics," he continued. Sanjay Raut, the head of the Shiv Sena, criticised the Centre on Wednesday for raids and action by Central Investigative Agencies in alleged money laundering cases involving people related to the ruling alliance in Maharashtra, saying that "missiles are being fired, but we are safe for the time being." These changes are coming in as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) prepares to hold elections this year.
