According to party President Uddhav Thackeray, Rutuja Latke's victory in the Andheri (East) Assembly by-election demonstrates the public's support for the Shiv Sena.
Latke won the byelection after running as the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) faction's candidate with support from the NCP and Congress. "The conflict is only getting started. Although the character is also vital, the (party) symbol is crucial. By-poll results demonstrate public support for us, "After Rutuja Latke visited him at his home and congratulated him, Thackeray named the triumph "Matoshree," he told reporters.

He said that the Election Commission had frozen the Shiv Sena's name and party emblem (a bow and arrow) in advance of this election. "This triumph marks the beginning of a battle. I implore Shiv Sainiks to engage in unified combat in all upcoming conflicts. The name and symbol of our party were fixed for this election, but those who wanted this are not present in the voting booth "In a subtle jab at the faction headed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Thackeray stated.

He accused the Shiv Sena's rivals of withdrawing from the campaign when the BJP, which had abruptly withdrawn its candidate for the by-election, sensed loss. When asked about the over 12,000 notes that were cast in support of the NOTA option at the by-poll, Thackeray responded, "Had our opponents been in the polling arena, their candidate would have secured the same amount of NOTA votes."
