On Sunday, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis attacked the Shiv Sena, saying that those who are afraid of removing loudspeakers from mosques are claiming that the Babri Mosque was demolished. Fadnavis aimed the Shiv Sena at the "Booster Dose" event in Mumbai, citing the recent controversy over the Azaan-Hanuman Chalisa. "At the time, there was no Shiv Sena leader. It wasn't a mosque to me; it was just a construction "he stated "Are you on Ram's or Ravana's side?" Fadnavis asked Shiv Sena.

The Shiv Sena, on the other side, has accused Fadnavis of plotting to make Mumbai a Union Territory. The Sena claimed in a scathing editorial published in the Maharashtra Day issue of the party newspaper Saamna that Fadnavis has presented a plan to the Union Home Ministry to make Mumbai a union territory, removing it from the state government's jurisdiction.

In response to Navneet Rana and Ravi Rana's detention for calling for a Hanuman Chalisa recitation in front of Thackeray's Matoshree home. He chastised the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, led by the Shiv Sena, for using the Sedition Act to prosecute the Rana couple. " There was work from home before, and now there is work from jail "According to Fadnavis.
