NCP Minister Chhagan Bhujbal released in Maharashtra Sadan Scam
Minister of Food and Civil Supplies and Senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Chhagan Bhujbal having faith in the decision taken by the Judiciary, welcomed it humbly on discharging him in the Maharashtra Sadan case. “Satya ko pareshan kiya ja skta hai lekin parajit ko nahi (Truth can be troubled, but never defeated),” stated Chhagam Bhujbal.

A meeting was held between him and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chief Sharad Pawar and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and thanked them for their giving support and assigning him with the post of the cabinet minister of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government comprising of Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). This post was given by the leaders despite the case against him.

“My hearty thanks to Sharad Pawar and all party colleagues for their continuous support, my hearty thanks to the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray too who was very confident of me being out of the case,” stated Sharad Pawar.  He further stated that “Everyone has a good phase and bad phase once in their lifetime, such as the bad phase I was going through.

This case resulted in me being arrested which caused my family a painful experience. The period that I was locked up in jail was for 2 years and was subjected to media trials. But I had a believe that justice will surely serve. And it did.” Responding to Bhujbal’s bail, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Leader Krirt Somaiya stated that “It will be very early to decide if Bhujbal was absolved of corruption charges in all cases. But let’s see and wait.
