The 81-year-old Pawar added that he didn't want to assume any responsibility at this time. I would solely work to unite anti-BJP parties in order to influence public opinion against the BJP, he declared. The NCP, in contrast, declared on Tuesday that the "ED" government of "Eknath and Devendra (Fadnavis)" will run out in an effort to score more runs off fewer balls in response to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's suggestion that the new administration must work hard in a short period of time.

Shinde had contrasted his ascension to power with a situation in a cricket match when more runs are needed to secure victory in fewer balls when speaking to a crowd on the occasion of the trial run of Metro 3 in Mumbai earlier that day. Mahesh Tapase, the top spokesperson for the Maharashtra NCP, seized on Shinde's remarks when he declared that "the Eknath and Devendra (ED) government will run out soon while trying to score more runs off few balls to be bowled." The Shinde government's political ambition, he added, "may lead to erroneous and hasty judgments impacting the overall progress of Maharashtra," raising doubt in the minds of the state's citizens.

Although his government has a poor track record of making swift choices, Tapase claimed that CM Shinde served the interests of Gujarat by acting quickly on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad "bullet train" project. Tapase added that the Supreme Court is now debating whether the Shinde administration is constitutionally valid. "On the other hand, the Uddhav Thackeray camp is gaining popularity from locals while the renegade MLAs appear to be sad as a result of being denied cabinet slots. The BJP leadership is concerned about all of this, especially because the 'C Voter' poll on the Lok Sabha elections predicted that the BJP and the Shinde group will lose in those elections in 2024 "he said.
