Many injured after clash outside Union Minister Narayan Rane’s bungalow

Soon after Union Minister of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made consensual comments against Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray, the workers of Shiv Sena started throwing stones at his residence in the city of Mumbai on Tuesday morning. Narayan Rane and his sons Nilesh and Nitesh Rane were in Konkan, but the attack was still retaliated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by throwing stones back at the Shiv Sena workers. In this chaos, eight policemen got injured with few Shiv Sena workers and Narayan Rane supporters. 

 
When questioned the Joint Commissioner Vishwas Nangre, about why this chaos was allowed to take place and why people were permitted to assemble outside Narayan Rane’s bungalow, he stated that “There was as many police personnel as required on the site, they dispersed the mob.” “In total two FIR’s have been filed against Shiv Sena workers and Union Minister Narayan Rane supporters for rioting, assault, endangering lives and breaking the protocols.
 
The Disaster Management Act and Epidemic Diseases Act have also been invoked by the police,” stated Additional Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik. Another FIR was filed by the Kasturba Marg police in Borivali, against 90 Shiv Sena workers as they raised and held protests against Union Minister Narayan Rane. The Santacruz and Juhu police stations had already deployed their police forces outside Union Minister Narayan Rane’s house as Yuva Sena workers started to assemble outside his residence.
 
“The crowd which was to arrive outside Rane’s bungalow would have been much bigger but the Police stopped the Shiv Sainiks,” stated Rahul Kanal, a Yuva Sena leader. With pelting stones, the protestors of Shiv Sena also threw eggs at Union Minister Narayan Rane’s house. The violence which started taking place from 11 am, went on till nearly 40 minutes, causing traffic on the Juhu Tara Road.
