Devendra Fadnavis, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, claimed on Saturday that Ghulam Nabi Azad made important points while leaving the Congress, calling it a "sinking ship." By branding former Congress President Rahul Gandhi as "immature" and "childish," and charging the leadership with "foisting a non-serious individual" at the helm of the party, Azad has resigned from every position in the Congress, including its core membership.

Speaking to the media at Nagpur International Airport, Fadnavis claimed that the Congress was a ship that was sinking and that those who believed that the ship could not be saved were making various choices. "I believe some of the issues Azad brought up were legitimate. However, as it is a concern for them alone, I will refrain from commenting "The top BJP politician made the statement.

Azad, 73, who has been involved with the Congress for almost 50 years, also criticised Sonia Gandhi, the party's leader, for using the "remote control paradigm that destroyed the institutional integrity of the UPA administration" in her leadership of the party. When the time comes for one's destruction or demise, one fails to consider intelligently, the BJP leader stated in response to the Shiv Sena's choice to team up with the Maratha organisation Sambhaji Brigade.

Both Shiv Sena sections would probably request permission for the customary rally during the festival of Dussehra now that the holiday is approaching. Fadnavis, who oversees the Home Department, responded, "Any event that violates laws and regulations will not take place in this government," when asked if the competing organisations led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray will be permitted the protest in Mumbai. At Shivaji Park in Dadar, Mumbai, the Shiv Sena often holds a Dussehra demonstration.
