In connection with the assault on Kirit Somaiya, a BJP Mumbai team consisting of Kirit Somaiya, Mihir Kotecha, Sunil Rane, and others will meet Union Home Secretary in New Delhi tomorrow, April 25th. Meanwhile, Mumbai police have filed an FIR against senior BJP politician Kirit Somaiya's chauffeur for allegedly driving in a hasty and careless way, causing minor injuries to a Shiv Sena corporator and a party worker, according to an official.

According to a police official from Khar Police Station, the FIR was filed late Saturday night after local Shiv Sena functionary Bhai Zhende filed a complaint and sought action against the driver. Somaiya was returning from the Khar police station on Saturday night after seeing independent MP Navneet Rana and her MLA husband Ravi Rana following their detention.

Shiv Sena workers were enraged by the Rana couple's plan to recite Hanuman Chalisa outside 'Matoshree,' the personal bungalow of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, on Saturday morning. The couple ultimately postponed the arrangement due to Shiv Sena opposition, but they were detained for allegedly "promoting animosity amongst different communities."

Former mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar was rescued by a police official as he was coming in the way of the car, he added. Shiv Sena worker Sanjay Kadam and party corporator from Bandra East Haji Haleem Khan suffered minor injuries.  So far, no arrests have been made, but an investigation is ongoing, according to the official. An anonymous person was arrested earlier in the day for reportedly throwing stones at Kirit Somaiya's car outside Khar Police Station, according to another police official.
