Jan Ashirwad Yatra: Four Maharashtra Ministers join BJP’s nationwide rally
Bharatiya Janata Party’s nationwide Jan Ashirwad Yatra was joined by Maharashtra, starting from Monday. The BJP in Maharashtra is looking at this as an opportunity as the Municipal Corporations elections approach. The BJP is taking the central schemes to the people and attack the Maha Vikas Aghadi government lead by Uddhav Thackeray over its “failures on various fronts”.

In the next six months’ elections for 22 municipal corporations, 24 district councils and several tehsil level bodies in Maharashtra are due.  As the dates for the elections come near the battle in Maharashtra is expected to heat up. BJP faces tough competition from its opposition after a coalition of three parties – Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party and Congress was formed in 2019. The Maha Vikas Aghadi has the highest number of local bodies in urban and rural parts.

On July 7, as the cabinet reshuffling took place 36 new faces were welcomed in the Modi government out of which four were from Maharashtra. The Union Minister of State for public health Dr. Bharti Pawar was asked to pay more attention to tribal-dominated areas of Palghar and Nashik. After which Dr. Pawar attacked the state over poor health care services in Palghar.

“Rs 70 crore has been released by the Central government for the State of Maharashtra but this comes as a surprise that not even a single piece of equipment was reached in Palghar. The stocks of the schemes are taken by us but the approach of the state machinery is indifferent,” stated Dr. Bharati during the yatra.

Madhav Bhandari who is the Vice President stated that the main aim of the conducing yatra was to take the Central Government’s programs and schemes to the common man. “The only motive behind this yatra is taking the Centres schemes to the people. We are not going talk about how the State Government has failed,” stated Madhav Bhandari.
