Chandrakant Patil, the Bharatiya Janata Party's Maharashtra unit president, said on Wednesday that he has told party workers that the BJP will return to power in Maharashtra after the results of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections are released on March 10. Patil also said that because the Shiv Sena-led Maharashtra government failed to instil confidence among migrant labourers during the coronavirus pandemic, they began returning to their native places on foot, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi showed sensitivity by launching special trains for them, in an interview with a Marathi news channel on Wednesday.

"During a meeting, some BJP workers expressed their dissatisfaction with the treatment they are receiving from others at a lower level, as well as the abuse of authority by those in control in the state. They also brought up the recent assassination attempt on (BJP leader) Kiritji Somaiya. But I reassured them that they need not be concerned because our Maharashtra government will be constituted following the results of the UP election "Patil explained.

Prior to the formation of the current Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government of the Sena, NCP and Congress in the state, the BJP shared power with the Sena from 2014 to 2019. PM Modi claimed in the Lok Sabha on Monday that the Congress "broke all limits" during the COVID-19 outbreak, accusing the party of inciting and intimidating innocent workers to depart Mumbai for their home states.

"Even if Congress leaders like Nana Patole, Ashok Chavan, Balasaheb Thorat, and NCP leader Supriya Sule try to twist Modiji's comments or mislead people," Patil said of the PM's statements. "During the pandemic, it was Modiji who distributed rations to 80 crore people. Modiji was the one who made vaccines available to the public. Those who are aware of this are unaffected by the deceptive advertising "he stated
