In a rare occurrence, Devendra Fadnavis, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and Elon Musk, the new CEO of Twitter, agreed on the need for funding to turn around the fortunes of their respective companies. Musk had tweeted, "Twitter would be minting money if I had a dime for every time someone asked me if Trump was coming back on this platform!" And the BJP would be flush with cash if I had a rupee for each #FakeNarrative attempted against me and our party by the opposition + #HMVs. in a tweet, Fadnavis. Fadnavis outlined the BJP's position while criticising the opposition, particularly in light of the relocation of five significant projects from Maharashtra.

On Monday, Fadnavis criticised the opposition and a small group of journalists for spreading a false claim that Maharashtra had lost five significant investments to Gujarat and other states after the Shiv Sena BJP won power. The five journalists were what he called HMVs (His Master's Voices). He kept the identities of these five journalists a secret, though. DyCM's outburst followed an attack on the Shinde Fadnavis administration by members of the Thackeray camp, including Aaditya Thackeray, Bhaskar Jadhav, and Sushama Andhare, on several topics, including significant projects leaving Maharashtra.

Social media was also being used by some writers and journalists to voice their disapproval of the Shinde Fadnavis administration. Fadnavis attributed the loss of these projects to the inaction of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, which is led by Uddhav Thackeray. Additionally, he asserted that it was an effort to malign the state. Aaditya Thackeray, a former Minister and leader of the Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray, however, had criticised Fadnavis for calling journalists HMV, claiming that it was an insult to journalism and journalists. "Fadnavis should retract his remarks," he continued, calling it "very demeaning to use the phrase HMV for journalists who write against politicians.
