Devendra Fadnavis launches the BMC Election campaign in Maharashtra

In an effort to win the mayoralty and realise the goals of the late Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray, Devendra Fadnavis and Uddhav Thackeray traded insults as the BJP's campaign for the BMC election was officially inaugurated on Saturday. The BJP, which won a record 82 seats in the 2017 local elections, might have also won the mayoral race, claimed Fadnavis in praise of Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar's performance. However, we went back two steps in favour of our buddy, the Sena.

 

As the partnership is built on the principles of the Sena founder, he continued, the BJP in coalition with the Eknath Shinde faction of the Sena will win the 2022 election. He declared, "The alliance will make every effort to raise the saffron flag atop the BMC and put an end to corruption in the civic body. In order to support MLA Shelar, Fadnavis noted that the Mumbai Cricket Association president and head of the city's BJP had both played cricket.

 

He declared, "You're going to win this match. "We intend to establish the BMC's Mumbai Vikas League." There can be obstacles, Fadnavis added, without mentioning the Uddhav-led Sena. If football gets in the way, you know how to kick it because you've created multiple football grounds. He criticised the Uddhav camp for saying Shinde had to submit to Delhi and asserted that the chief minister's trip to the capital was in Mumbai's best interests.

 

He added, "Even I will travel to Delhi whenever necessary to obtain the Center's approval for such projects. Later, Sena President Thackeray poked fun at Fadnavis, claiming that the BJP leader was admitting that the Modi era was finished by soliciting votes in Balasaheb's honour. Fadnavis had implicitly acknowledged that it would be pointless to seek votes in Modi's name by asserting that the BJP wants to win the BMC election in order to realise the goals of the late Sena founder, Thackeray claimed.
