Deputy CM Fandvis meets CM Shinde on the occasion of Diwali

Devendra Fadnavis, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, contacted Eknath Shinde, the Chief Minister, to wish him a happy Diwali. The two leaders discussed the state cabinet's imminent expansion when they met late on Tuesday night at the Chief Minister's official residence, Varsha, in South Mumbai. When the deputy CM met Shinde at his home, the CM's parliamentary son Shrikant Shinde was also present. The Deputy CM was accompanied by his wife Amruta Fadnavis.
 
Shinde had earlier on Tuesday been to the Gadchiroli district to spend Diwali with police officers stationed there to battle Maoists. Late in the evening, he arrived in Mumbai, the state capital. "Visited Varsha & met CM Eknath Shinde Ji and gave Deepavali greetings to him and his family, earlier today," Fadnavis wrote in a tweet following their encounter.
 
On June 30, of this year, the Shinde-BJP coalition administration was established, and it recently reached the milestone of 100 days in office. There are now 18 cabinet members in the state council of ministers, including CM Shinde. The Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction and its allies the BJP both have nine ministers. In Maharashtra, the Council of Ministers may consist of up to 43 people.
