Ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Union Minister, Narayan Rane had organised Jan Ashirwad Yatra in Raigad. Since then, speculations, and allegations have not left the race. In a recent contentious statement made by Union Minister Narayan Rane, stating that the minister wanted to “give a tight slap” to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray, after the Shiv Sena leader allegedly forgot the year of Independence while addressing the citizens on August 15.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Union Minister claimed that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray forgot the year of Independence and had to check with his aides while continuing his speech for the day. “The Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray did not remember the year of Independence and had to ask his fellow mates sitting behind during his speech, it is very shameful. If I would have been there, I would have given him a tight slap,” stated Union Minister Narayan Rane. The rally named Jan Ashirwad Yatra (JAY) was organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Raigad for the people who have been sworn in recently in the Narendra Modi Cabinet.
Responding to these contentious statements from the BJP Union Minister Narayan Rane, Shiv Sena’s Ratnagiri- Sindhudurg MP Vinayak Raut stated that the minister had lost his mind. “Trying to win the leadership in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the minister has lost his mind and has been attacking the Shiv Sena and its leadership by fake allegations each day. Soon after his induction in the union cabinet, he has lost his mind. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should clean up his cabinet by taking such people out. Narayan Rane, the former Shiv Sena leader was only inducted in the Union Cabinet so that he could attack the Shiv Sena, while doing so he has stooped to a new low.”
