Maharashtra: Conflict rises between BJP and Shiv Sena over Jan Ashirwad Yatra

Bharatiya Janata Party’s plan for Jan Ashirwad Yatra (JAY) has become the new issue for a definite clash between the party and its former ally Shiv Sena. Attacking the BJP, Shiv Sena MP, Sanjay Raut stated if this rally takes place this will be an invitation to the third wave of the Covid 19 in the State of Maharashtra.

“The issue of Jan Ashirwad Yatra (JAY) was also discussed in the state cabinet meeting as this will be an invitation to the third wave of Covid 19,” stated Sanjay Raut. Responding to the decision taken by BJP for a rally, the Chief Minister stated “If people cannot play the role of a Covid warrior, at least they should not play the role of a Covid spreader.”

As the BJP was ready for a counter-attack, they hit back to the Shiv Sena stating that whether Covid did not spread in the rallies done by the Shiv Sena. This rally was launched by newly inducted ministers of the state in the Union Cabinet Kapil Patil, Bharti Pawar and Bhagwat Karad from the BJP.  Further, Sanjay Raut while interacting with the media stated that “All are aware of the JAY rally it is nothing but just a showcase of strength which will lead to the invitation of the third wave. This rally is mainly being done to trouble the government of the state.

“In a recent event of the Shiv Sena there were around 8000-10,000 people gathered, wasn’t that an invitation to the third wave, why come BJP is being targeted alleging an invitation to the third wave?” stated BJP’s Kapil Patil. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray stated that at least the opposition should follow the Covid 19 protocols whenever they are organising any such event.
