BMC Election 2022
With less than a year remaining for the Mumbai BMC Elections,  a beleaguered Congress in Mumbai is imitating models already used and tested in the previous elections by the ruling alliance of the ShivSena and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The Mumbai Congress led by Sanjay Nirupam, a former Shiv Sena leader is focussing on strengthening its cadre at the grassroots, akin to the Shiv Sena’s shakha system.

It has started organising community outreach events to hit a direct connect with potential voters – a hasya kavi sammelan for Marwaris and plans for folk events featuring lavani, dayro and birha for Maharashtrians, Gujaratis and North Indians, respectively.

Simultaneously, the party is also working to boost its social media presence holding workshops and ensuring that all its former and current public representative have active twitter handles with at least one tweet a day.
