Ahead of the BMC elections that are to be conducted in 2022, all parties in the state have reportedly started their preparations regarding the same. As spirited politics in the state have changed after Sena- BJP parted ways in 2019. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation will be a sturdy contest for the Sena, as it will go head-to-head with the BJP.

On one hand, Congress has declared to contest BMC elections alone, the opinions are doing rounds that Shiv Sena and NCP may contest BMC election together. In recent news, CM Uddhav Thackeray stood on the decision to hand over 100 flats in the MHADA building to the Parel-based Tata Memorial Hospital to assist patients and their relatives as well as caretakers.

After CM Uddhav Thackeray meets Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumptions are being made of BJP and Shiv Sena joining hands. A lot of interesting political moves have gone on in Maharashtra and the alliance which is born out after the elections amid parties that have contested against each other now an uneasy alliance for almost two years. It seems that the shiv Sena is not intent on being dictated terms but the Congress given the fact that as many people in the Shiv Sena including Sanjay Raut have been pointing out.

The Congress is essentially a distant fourth in Maharashtra. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections are not any other corporate elections but the richest corporation in the country. It has been having Shiv Sena’s hold for last so many years, that there is now a constant tussle between the BJP and the Shiv Sena. This is not going to be easy this time. And on that background, if the Congress is going to fight separately, it is going to be like opening several fronts in the same battle line and that is what the Sena is thinking.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi is together in the government, it says that none of these statements made by the Congress leaders are going to affect the government and that the government will complete its full tenure. There is a point of stress and tension because earlier there was a consensus among the parties, that all the coming elections should be fought together to make sure that the BJP is defeated. Lack of cooperation has emerged in Maha Vikas Aghadi.
