Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday poked fun at Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, claiming that by calling for votes in the name of Balasaheb Thackeray, Fadnavis is acknowledging that the Modi period is ended and that the BMC  elections are underway.

Thackeray was responding to Fadnavis's claim that the BJP is determined to win the BMC in order to realise the ambitions of late Shiv Sena leader Balasaheb Thackeray, which he made in a speech to party workers. Fadnavis has so highlighted the fact that it will be useless to lobby for votes on Modi's behalf.

According to BJP policy, after the utility is finished, they choose a new name and solicit votes to take control. Fadnavis has shown the real face of the BJP. Thackeray asserted that the Maharashtrian populace would respond appropriately at the polls. After the next elections, the Shiv Sena (Shinde camp) and the BJP alliance would have its mayor in the BMC, according to Fadnavis during the party's workshop.

"The BJP had made significant progress last time (during the 2017 elections), and the party could have elected the mayor." BJP was ready in every way. However, we made a choice and then retreated two steps for the benefit of our allies. The mayor of the Shiv Sena was chosen, he continued. The Shiv Sena (Shinde camp) BJP combination will now run the BMC for mayor. Which Shiv Sena, though? According to Hindu Hruday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray, the actual Shiv Sena is led by Eknath Shinde," claimed Fadnavis.
