Ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2022, the civic body has submitted the draft of ward boundaries to the State Election Commission (SEC). The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is also looking forward to register new voters in the list for the youths who will be turning 18 by January 1, 2022 and will be able to register on www.nvsp.in and www.ceo.maharashtra.nic.in from 1st of November to 30th November.
To gear up for the approaching Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2022, the civic body is keeping track on the physical status of buildings and slums and has also mapped them on the electoral maps. Now the draft is being submitted to the State Election Commission (SEC), after which it will publish it out in public or else direct the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to give an invitation for suggestions or objects by the citizens.
After this, a lottery process will be held for the 227 electoral wards to decide which is ward is reserved and which one is open. Ahead of this, attacking the ruling the
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wrote about this to the authority stating that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has made the ward maps in an immediate way and under pressure from the
Shiv Sena ruling government in the State of Maharashtra.
The Election Commission of India will be conducting a brief revision of the voter's list to allow citizens aged 18 to register in the required constituency. The revision will not only register names of the new fellows but also permit correction of addresses, names and many other types of issues and will be settled by 20th December, after which on January 5th, 2022 the final voter's list will be published.
“All the citizens completing 18 years on January 1, 2022 should register their names in the electoral roll and help increase the voter turnout for the
upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections 2022,” stated a statement which was issued by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
