BMC Elections 2022
As the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2022 approach, parties never miss on taking a jibe at the opposition. Soon after the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal leading the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) reduced the VAT on petrol by about a big of 8 per litre, the opposition parties in the state of Maharashtra started to question the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition government consisting of Shiv Sena, Congress, and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) that why the government went on to reduce the excise on foreign liquor by 50 percent but is not willing to cut VAT on fuel prices.

Attacking the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stated that this move was not good at all.
“This act of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition government consisting of Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) clearly shows the humanity and connectivity the party shares with the common man in the state. Any decision which is taken by the government should not only be legal but also ethical. When the VAT was reduced by Centre it reduced from the indivisible pool allowing Maharashtra to continue its share of 41 percent taxes,” stated senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar.

Further, he stated that it should be noticed that where there is not the government of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) like Punjab and now Delhi they too have shown some sensitivity towards the common man, this decision is not at all wise economically. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader who is handling the approaching, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2022, stated that in the coalition of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), the Congress party had agreed on reduction in VAT, but the party does not have much say in the coalition government, the other two parties hardly pay any attention to the congress.
