The BJP is running the "Jagar Mumbai Cha" campaign throughout the city to win the forthcoming BMC elections. Last Sunday, the Bandra East PWD field hosted the inaugural Jagar Mumbai Cha rally. Voters are to be made aware of the Shiv Sena's strategy for winning the election through the campaign. According to Bhalchandra Shirsat, a former BJP councilman and member of the BMC's standing committee, "the BJP's campaign will expose the Sena's corruption in the BMC. In addition, the BJP will present the Shiv Sena's strategy of uniting Muslim and Marathi voters to win the BMC election.

All Mumbai-based BJP MLAs and MPs will hold rallies in their respective districts as part of the Jagar Mumbai Cha campaign. According to their schedules, BJP ministers will also go to the rallies. The BJP organised the Pol Khol Yatra a few months ago, but it didn't draw much attention from the public and its Pol Khol rath was attacked. Shivsainiks, according to the BJP, vandalised their rath. Later, a Chembur police complaint was filed. The BJP's strategy was altered this time. The campaigns will only be held on Saturdays and Sundays rather than daily. Several jagars will be held concurrently in several assembly constituencies.

Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant commented on the Jagar Mumbai Cha campaign by asserting, "The BJP is building barriers of casteism among people. Their Hindutva, perhaps? If you wish to initiate a CAG investigation into BMC's spending, you should also look into the municipal corporations in Pune, Nagpur, and Nashik. What kind of corruption is the BJP referring to? For the past 25 years, they have been working together with us. The Shiv Sena is their worst fear. I'm putting that to them. Elections ought to be held right away, Mr. Sawant continued.
