NCP Leader: BJP misleading people over the flood relief package for Maharashtra declared by Union Agriculture Minister
On Thursday, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) criticised the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for misleading the people over the flood relief package for the state of Maharashtra as declared by the Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. This allegation was made by Mahesh Tapase in a statement, chief spokesperson of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), who is the constituent in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government led by Uddhav Thackeray.

“Recently the Union Agriculture Minister declared a relief package of Rs 701 crore, but it was announced for the people affected due to flood in Maharashtra in 2020, that means the Centre has announced relief amount for the people who were affected by flood in the last year, they are been given a relief amount almost a year later, so the BJP is misleading the citizens that the relief is for the people who were affected by the last week's floods,' stated Mahesh Tapase.

He further said that out of the 3,701 crore relief amount the Union government has only sanctioned 701 crores with no relief for the people who have been affected by the recent flood in the state of Maharashtra. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader stated that the evaluation of damage is going on and soon the state government will be finalising its report.
